Finished What The Dead Guy Saw with a decent ending, though I think it will be one of the more heavily revised bits I do when I go into revision mode. Will get it into the mailer tomorrow.
Started on Interlude #4—Blade Dancing. In which we meet Blade in the What Is for the first time.
492 words, a bit over 20 minutes. It’s always tricky starting a new chapter. I end up doing a couple false starts before I get the right opener.
And let me tell you, I was shocked to find out tonight’s particular bit of Blade’s secret. I suspect there’s more he’s still hiding, though. Looking forward to find it all.
How did your words go?
They got their shock when they looked in the mirror in Story—Kettan, Will, and Emerald. And they’re starting to figure out a part of the puzzle that has eluded them until now.
A straight 20 minutes, 603 words tonight, 32,894 words total. And I’m pretty sure I know where I’ll take this tomorrow.
It came together pretty well for me tonight.
What about you?
I had to know one was going to show up in this story sooner or later. Mirrors fascinate me…and this time, one is turning out to be a piece in a rather neat little puzzle my subconscious has been unfolding for my amusement over the last few nights.
I think I can see where it’ll end, though I’m not quite sure how I’ll get there yet.
But 503 words. A bit over 20 minutes.
How about you?
Picked up with the action from the end of the last chapter tonight, and got 518 words on the new chapter (titled above) in about 20 minutes.
I’m building in the first part of the new scene, not really sure how it’s going to get me where I want to go yet. But one of my characters asked another a good question. That gives me something to think about and let perk tonight. Should have something interesting to do with the answer by tomorrow.
How are your words coming?
It took me 839 words, but I got the rest of the chapter, and I LOVE the hook at the end. I kept plugging toward it, not knowing how it was going to end or how I was going to move Will, Kettan, Emerald, and Fred into the next part of the story…
…I just had this idea that Will’s world was the secret. And when a few paragraphs from the end I realized how it was all going to come together, I could barely sit still to type it.
Am posting the chapter into Aweber now so it’ll go out on Monday for folks who are caught up.
Hope you folks have a good writing weekend. I’m off until Sunday night.
Kettan learned more about Will than Will would have preferred tonight. None of it was bad, but some of it left Will pretty stressed.
Tomorrow I have to get to the bit about the nightmares—that’ll be the end of the current chapter.
Tonight, though, 666 words.
How about you?
So Kettan, Will, and Emerald decide that Blade may be watching Kettan’s place, as well as her world—and decide they’ll go into Story though someone else’s world.
And end up tonight deciding to try to get there through Will’s world. Which is filled with women. Babes, even. Lots of them.
I had some fun with tonight’s writing. Emerald got the night’s best line.
521 words.
How about you?
